白马雪山国家级自然保护区典型森林生态系统服务   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
生态系统服务是近年来生态学研究的热点领域,对关键区域生态系统服务的研究具有重要意义.云南省白马雪山国家级自然保护区地处青藏高原南延部分,拥有独特的地理位置,是生物多样性保护的热点区域.本文对该保护区森林生态系统的生物量与生产力、水源涵养、营养物质循环等3项服务的功能量进行了评估.结果表明:保护区森林总生物量2215.86×104t,生产力171.84×104t·a-1;水源涵养量11964.56×104m3;N、P、K年吸收量分别为26025.94t、2638.57t、12016.85 t.研究表明,保护区森林生态效益显著,对于维持当地以及周边地区的生态安全具有重要意义.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Quasilinear viscoelasticity (QLV) theory has been widely and successfully used to describe the time-dependent response of connective tissues. Difficulties remain, however, particularly in material parameter estimation and sensitivities. In this study, we introduce a new alternative: the fractional order viscoelasticity (FOV) theory, which uses a fractional order integral to describe the relaxation response. FOV implies a fractal-like tissue structure, reflecting the hierarchical arrangement of collagenous tissues. METHOD OF APPROACH: A one-dimensional (I-D) FOV reduced relaxation function was developed, replacing the QLV "box-spectrum" function with a fractional relaxation function. A direct-fit, global optimization method was used to estimate material parameters from stress relaxation tests on aortic valve tissue. RESULTS: We found that for the aortic heart valve, FOV had similar accuracy and better parameter sensitivity than QLV, particularly for the long time constant (tau2). The mean (n = 5) fractional order was 0.29, indicating that the viscoelastic response of the tissue was strongly fractal-like. RESULTS SUMMARY: mean QLV parameters were C = 0.079, tau1 = 0.004, tau2 = 76, and mean FOV parameters were beta = 0.29, tau = 0.076, and rho = 1.84. CONCLUSIONS: FOV can provide valuable new insights into tissue viscoelastic behavior Determining the fractional order can provide a new and sensitive quantitative measure for tissue comparison.  相似文献

Cancer cells exhibit increased glycolysis for ATP production due, in part, to respiration injury (the Warburg effect). Because ATP generation through glycolysis is less efficient than through mitochondrial respiration, how cancer cells with this metabolic disadvantage can survive the competition with other cells and eventually develop drug resistance is a long-standing paradox. We report that mitochondrial respiration defects lead to activation of the Akt survival pathway through a novel mechanism mediated by NADH. Respiration-deficient cells (rho(-)) harboring mitochondrial DNA deletion exhibit dependency on glycolysis, increased NADH, and activation of Akt, leading to drug resistance and survival advantage in hypoxia. Similarly, chemical inhibition of mitochondrial respiration and hypoxia also activates Akt. The increase in NADH caused by respiratory deficiency inactivates PTEN through a redox modification mechanism, leading to Akt activation. These findings provide a novel mechanistic insight into the Warburg effect and explain how metabolic alteration in cancer cells may gain a survival advantage and withstand therapeutic agents.  相似文献

The normal periodic turnover of bone is referred to as remodeling. In remodeling, old or damaged bone is removed during a 'resorption' phase and new bone is formed in its place during a 'formation' phase in a sequence of events known as coupling. Resorption is preceded by an 'activation' phase in which the signal to remodel is initiated and transmitted. Remodeling is known to involve the interaction of external stimuli, bone cells, calcium and phosphate ions, and several proteins, hormones, molecules, and factors. In this study, a semi-empirical cell dynamics model for bone remodeling under external stimulus that accounts for the interaction between bone mass, bone fluid calcium, bone calcium, and all three major bone cell types, is presented. The model is formulated to mimic biological coupling by solving separately and sequentially systems of ODEs for the activation, resorption, and formation phases of bone remodeling. The charateristic time for resorption (20 days) and the amount of resorption (~0.5%) are fixed for all simulations, but the formation time at turnover is an output of the model. The model was used to investigate the effects of different types of strain stimuli on bone turnover under bone fluid calcium balance and imbalance conditions. For bone fluid calcium balance, the model predicts complete turnover after 130 days of formation under constant 1000 microstrain stimulus; after 47 days of formation under constant 2000 microstrain stimulus; after 173 days of formation under strain-free conditions, and after 80 days of formation under monotonic increasing strain stimulus from 1000 to 2000 microstrain. For bone fluid calcium imbalance, the model predicts that complete turnover occurs after 261 days of formation under constant 1000 microstrain stimulus and that turnover never occurs under strain-free conditions. These predictions were not impacted by mean dynamic input strain stimuli of 1000 and 2000 microstrain at 1 Hz and 1000 microstrain amplitude. The formation phase of remodeling lasts longer than the resorption phase, increased strain stimulus accelerates bone turnover, while absence of strain significantly delays or prevents it, and formation time for turnover under monotonic increasing strain conditions is intermediate to those for constant strain stimuli at the minimum and maximum monotonic strain levels. These results are consistent with the biology, and with Frost's mechanostat theory.  相似文献

Seasonal variation in various thermoregulatory, metabolic and ventilatory parameters was examined for southern brown bandicoots (Isoodon obesulus fusciventer) from a Mediterranean climate near Perth, Western Australia. There was significant seasonal variation over the four annual seasons at thermoneutrality (Ta=30 degrees C) in body temperature, oxygen consumption, carbon dioxide production, respiratory exchange ratio, total evaporative water loss, wet and dry thermal conductance and tidal volume but not mass, ventilatory frequency, minute volume or oxygen extraction efficiency. Only carbon dioxide production and respiratory exchange ratio showed an annual pattern that was significantly related to season, with both being significantly higher in winter, presumably as a result of greater and higher quality food availability.  相似文献

Multispecies cicada communities in neotropical rainforests produce a complex and intense acoustic environment. In a fragment of a Mexican rainforest (Veracruz, Mexico), a cicada community at the end of the dry season consisted of nine species ( Daza montezuma; Pacarina schumanni; Miranha imbellis; Dorisiana sutori; Fidicinoides picea; Fidicinoides pronoe; Quesada gigas; one species of the genus Neocicada and one uncaught canopy species). Seven of the nine species formed dense choruses at dawn and at dusk. Each species showed preferences in the height of calling sites. Males of the species were solitary or gregarious, and followed a 'call-fly' or a 'call-stay' calling strategy. Acoustic signals of each species had particular time and frequency patterns. All these specific features appear to separate the nine species acoustically and lead to a partitioning of the acoustic environment. In an attempt to recognize the possible ecological causes of the decline of a population of Hoopoes Upupa epops in the Swiss Alps, we collected data on resource exploitation. The prey provisioned to nestlings by parents was investigated at four breeding sites using photographs (n = 4353, 80% of which enabled prey identification). Molecrickets Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa and Lepidoptera (larvae and pupae) were dominant in nestling diet (93% frequency; 97% biomass). Although Molecrickets were provisioned less frequently (26%) than Lepidoptera (67%), they represented 68% of the total biomass (vs 29% for Lepidoptera). There was an overall negative relationship between the proportion of Molecricket biomass in the diet and the parents' feeding rate, whereas a comparison between broods showed that a higher provisioning activity did not lead to an increase in the biomass supplied to the chicks. A diet based on Molecrickets therefore appears to be energetically advantageous. As Molecrickets are a traditional prey of Hoopoes in central Europe, this might be relevant to other populations. In the study area, Molecrickets occur only on the intensively cultivated plain, whereas the majority of Hoopoe pairs nest at various altitudes on the foothills adjacent to the plain as the latter provides at present almost no suitable nesting sites. Hoopoes breeding higher up on the foothills seem to experience greater provisioning costs and have, on average, lower breeding success. Providing nest sites on the plain is the main conservation measure proposed for the local Hoopoe population. Further attention should also be paid to Molecrickets as these may be crucial for Hoopoes.  相似文献
